This unique “triple-bungee” attachment system allows you to carry a soft cooler or gear bag securely strapped to your rear cargo box, sitting comfortably behind you on the unused rear portion of your saddle.  It’s easily adjustable to accommodate any size container you could comfortably “share your seat with.”

The spacer bars are solid aluminum, drilled so the three center bungees slide through the holes for adjustment, held in place (once tensioned properly for your bag) by a socket-head set screw at each hole that tightens down on the end of the bungee and secures its position.  The stainless steel hooks are fastened to the aluminum bar through threaded holes and secured by a lock nut.  Loops for the hooks are bolted through the wall of your rear cargo box.  Once properly adjusted this system allows secure transport of an extra gear bag or soft cooler that easily attaches and detaches in seconds.  Ask for the Cooler Quick Attach System $34+shipping (about $7 within the US)

Trail Tip!  For a more comfortable ride while “touring” between mud and rock challenges, we use the cooler system for a lumbar support.  Simply add a “Butt Saver” cushion (available at Wal-Marts and most sporting goods stores) between you and the bag, using the adjustable elastic belt on the cushion to secure it to the bag.  For the top opening coolers we use we don’t even have to remove the cushion to grab a cold one.  In fact, the belt on the cushion holds the tri-bungee in place when disconnected from the box, effectively turning the three pieces into a single unit.
